Best WordPress Themes for Beginners

Finding the best WordPress themes for beginners can be difficult.

There are so many WordPress themes out there that it can be overwhelming to know which ones to even look through. I know that when you start out, finding the best WordPress theme is important to you. My recommendation is to go with a Genesis Theme. I wrote a post previously listing all the reasons why I recommend going with a Genesis Theme. 

Let’s chat about free themes. If you are strapped for cash and cannot find a way to afford to buy a theme then a free theme is fine. If you have the money to buy a theme then you should. Free themes are not unique and there isn’t much you can do to customize them to fit the brand of your business. If you use a free theme you will start to notice that theme everywhere. Using a paid for theme gives you the ability to brand it and customize it to fit your business.

All of the recommendations I list are based around the Genesis Parent theme. The child themes listed below all work with the parent theme. For those of you that aren’t aware, the parent theme is the guts and basics of a theme. The child theme makes it look pretty and lets you customize it. Now that we have gotten through that section let’s move on to the recommendations! 

The first place I recommend looking for themes is StudioPress.  StudioPress actually created the Genesis framework so they know what they are doing with their child themes. StudioPress combines expert knowledge in SEO, design, performance, security, support, and (of course) WordPress to help you build reliable, beautiful WordPress sites. Check out the themes and buy one that you love!

The other company I recommend buying from is Restored 316 LLC. Restored 316 offers feminine genesis child themes. The themes work just as well as StudioPress but if you are more a girly girl then this is the company for you to check out. They offer beautiful feminine themes that can be customized for your business.  Their customer service is also excellent. I would suggest looking at both of these sites before you decide on a theme from either one.
